Life Style Newborn in San Jose, CA

I knew the Davidian family back in December 2021; they did a Tree Farm session, Alana was in the early weeks of her pregnancy, so we incorporated some shoots to give the news to their family. Big Brother didn't know about the good news, and it was funny because he was wearing a T-shirt with the words "Big Brother,” but he couldn't read it, so we could keep the surprise until mom and dad were ready to announce it.

After she gave the family the big news, she contacted me to book the newborn session. I feel so happy to capture the special days for my clients. We talked about how she wanted to capture this moment and decided that the best option for her was the Life Style session.

WHAT IS A LIFE STYLE NEWBORN SESSION?

If you are wondering how a life style session looks, this post is for you. Life Style sessions are natural; we don't pose the baby or your family. I try to capture the beauty of these days. Newborn cuddles, nurseries, and sacred spots in your home are the perfect background! This session is ideal for families that need a little more time to book the session, we don't have a limited age for Life Style sessions, but if you are looking for sleeping poses, ideally baby must be younger than 2 weeks old.

Life Style sessions are around 60-90 minutes long. I book them during the morning, 10-11 AM. I recommend you to feed the baby 15 minutes before the session start, but we will stop if the baby needs a diaper change or another feeding.

WHAT TO DRESS FOR A LIFE STYLE SESSION?

I provide all my clients with a Style Tool to help them coordinate outfits. I have beautiful gowns in My Client Closet and some pajamas and wraps for the baby. I recommend all my clients keep the color palette neutral and light. Colors such as tan, beige, sand, and gray will help the photos to be timeless and will provide light to the ambiance.

We can incorporate items with sentimental value for your family. In this session, we include the great-grandfather's photo and a teddy bear that was used to give big brother the announcement of his baby brother.
