Holiday Family Outfits 2023 | Bay Area Family Photographer

What to wear for Holiday Family Photos?

The holiday season is fast approaching, and what better way to celebrate than with a family photoshoot? I understand the importance of looking your best to capture the warmth and joy of this special time.

Here are five simple tips to help you select the perfect outfits for your holiday family session:

  1. Coordinate, Don't Match: Avoid wearing identical outfits, as it can look overly staged. Instead, opt for coordinating colors and styles to create a cohesive yet unique look for your family.

  2. Seasonal Colors: Embrace the festive spirit by choosing clothing in traditional holiday colors like deep reds, forest greens, or rich blues. These colors add a touch of elegance to your photos.

  3. Layer Up: Layering adds depth and texture to your images. Consider incorporating scarves, cardigans, or vests to add a cozy and visually interesting element to your outfits.

  4. Comfort is Key: Ensure that everyone feels comfortable in their chosen attire. Uncomfortable clothing can lead to strained expressions and discomfort during the session. Dress for the weather, too!

  5. Accessories Matter: Accessories like hats, mittens, and festive jewelry can add a personal touch and make your photos unique. They also make for easy and fun props during your session.

Remember, the key to a successful holiday family session is to let your personalities shine through while embracing the season's spirit. I’m here to capture those beautiful moments for you. So, follow these tips, and get ready to create lasting memories this holiday season!

Family Outfits Ideas

I created 2 color pallets for Family Outfits for the 2023 Holiday Season. The first one is using seasonal colors; burgundy will add that holiday touch to your outfits; mixing textures, patterns, and colors will create a cohesive wardrobe.

The second one is a timeless look; using neutral tones with different fabrics, such as satin, you can give a pop to your outfits. I included different patterns and some accessories to add more interest to the look. Remember that it’s not about “matching.” It’s about coordinate!
